About Me

With over 30 years in Information Technology, I’ve built a career around researching, integrating, and supporting the systems that keep businesses running. My work spans infrastructure, software, and security, bridging the gap between strategy and execution.

Before founding CricketHoward, LLC more than 15 years ago, I spent seven years in environmental engineering and industrial hygiene IT, acting as department head of Air Quality while also serving as onsite IT for a firm consulting to paper mills and pharmaceutical companies. I then spent ten years in healthcare IT at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine (WMED), a multi-specialty teaching clinic partnered with Borgess and Bronson hospitals. Those years grounded me in the disciplines of reliability, compliance, and user-centered design, skills that continue to shape how I build and manage systems today.

Rather than specializing in a single discipline, I’ve built a broad technical foundation that spans systems, networks, and applications. I’m not a programmer by trade, my expertise lies in designing, integrating, and managing the technologies that others build. That range gives me a solid base to understand each client’s unique challenges and design solutions that truly fit their business, bridging gaps between teams and staying effective in a world where technology evolves faster than job titles.

Since founding my firm, I’ve designed and managed technology environments across a wide range of industries, developing a deep understanding of how IT drives real business outcomes. My core expertise includes systems administration, integration, network engineering, and information security.

Over the years, I’ve worked across sectors including Healthcare, Retail, Automotive, Logistics, Engineering, Real Estate, Hospitality, and the Health & Wellness space, each with its own challenges and lessons. That diversity allows me to approach technology not as a set of tools, but as a strategic framework that adapts to the realities of each business.

At the core of it all is a simple philosophy: technology should serve the business, not the other way around. My role is to make that relationship work, efficiently, securely, and sustainably.
